My dog ingested xylitol?

A few hours ago my brother had gave the family dog (miniature dachshund) a few tic tacs and my brother was wondering why our dog loved them so much, so he googled it and found out it was much more toxic to dogs than chocolate. I am wondering if my dog will be ok, its been about 5 hours since he ingested it. I cannot go to sleep until I make sure my dog is alright. A speedy response is much appreciated.
