Why did he say i love you?

ok i went on a date with a really nice guy very gentleman ,after the date he stopped texting so much,like every other day, but last night he was saying stuff like how many guys you texing then,have i lost out? and also giving me phrases in spanish which were i love you and is this love??? what the hell ?
