Need to know more about Carrie, by Stephen King!?

I'm taking a myth & culture cl & want to write my research paper on Carrie, by Stephen King. I want to show the similarities between Carrie & the female divine. I know the her period is symbolic to the goddess & so on. Can anyone give me a link or book that would help me research the symbolism behind this film/book? Thanks!
