Is the movie "Blood Diamond" very gory?

Does it show much blood or realistic looking gore, slaughtering, etc.? Just wondering if it's something I can handle because I'd like to go see it. Is it worth seeing? Looking for a good Golden Globe nominated movie to go see before the awards tomorrow night so I'll have something to root for.
