Installing Additional OS(Operating Sys)/Driver Problems?

sometimes booting linux cd's can be weird. you may need to look specifically on the internet for solutions for your model Laptop. you may need to go into the bios and play around with the boot sequence settings. if you have floppy drive make the CD take priority over it when booting. that may help. how old is the laptop and how new is the OS. the gap can be your biggest obstacle. newer linux disks have newer forms of bootloaders that your older laptop might not know how to handle.
